Local communities – you too can help the honey bee
Whether parish council or other local community wishing to play its part, you can join Friends of the Honey Bee and play your part in protecting the UK’s declining honey bee population.
We will help you choose the right plants for your community so that your village or other area remains in bloom right through the season – from February to October/November.
In planting selectively to ensure a staggered blooming period, you’ll enable local honey bee colonies to have a rich source of food and forage throughout the year. This will not only help strengthen the bees during the critical winter period, it will also increase biodiversity in your community – attracting new insects and animals and ensuring consistency of pollination and flowering throughout the year.
Play your part in our campaign to save the UK’s honey bee population – join Friends of the Honey Bee today.
